Solid Waste Compliance Section

The Solid Waste Compliance Section oversees the general compliance and operations of the state's permitted solid waste facilities; closure of the state's solid waste facilities; and post-closure monitoring requirements. The section also oversees a number of inactive asbestos disposal sites located in the Nashua / Hudson, New Hampshire area due to past dumping practices by a former asbestos manufacturing facility.

Permitting & Design Review Section

The Permitting and Design Review Section of the Solid Waste Management Bureau provides permitting, technical and engineering services for the entire solid waste program.  This is achieved through the review of permit applications, providing construction supervision of solid waste facilities, overseeing the management of certain wastes, and managing the certification of waste derived products.

Financial Oversight Section

The Financial Oversight Section consists of the Grant Management Subsection for the distribution of state funds for closure of municipally owned unlined landfills and certain municipal incinerators, and the Financial Assurance Subsection which ensures that permitted unlined municipal landfills and private solid waste facilities have sufficient funding to close when business operations are terminated.
