New Hampshire Climate Change Policy Task Force

New Hampshire Climate Change Policy Task Force
Schedule and Public Engagement

The New Hampshire Climate Change Action Plan development process is guided by the Governor’s Climate Change Policy Task Force and supported by six Technical and Policy Working Groups. The development process is open and transparent to the public with opportunities to observe and provide input throughout the process.

In order to provide the Task Force with the time required to fully consider the diverse range of actions proposed by the six Working Groups, the Governor has granted the Task Force an extension. Input can be submitted to Chris Skoglund, Energy and Transportation Analyst, 271-7624 or Christopher.Skoglund@des.nh.gov.

Following the identification of specific actions that the Task Force wishes to consider further, there will be a series of public listening sessions held around the state in mid-September. During these meetings, which are currently being scheduled, residents will be able comment on the draft action plan’s recommendations and scope. These comments will be used to inform the Task Force’s decision-making process prior to the selection of the final actions and the submission of the final Climate Change Action Plan to the Governor in December 2008

In order to help the Task Force identify the specific actions that will be considered further, there will be a series of public listening sessions held around the state in mid-September. During these events, residents will be able provide input on the opportunities that exist within New Hampshire to reduced Greenhouse Gas Emissions. They will also be able to comment on the draft Action Reports that developed by the Working Groups. These reports will be available on the web prior to the meetings for review.

These comments will be used by the Task Force to inform their decision-making process and assist in the selection of the final actions. These sessions are a key part of completing and submitting the final Climate Change Action Plan to the Governor in December 2008.
