The Legal Unit of the DES Commissioner’s Office provides support to all enforcement and rulemaking undertaken by DES and provides legal guidance to DES staff on interpretations of statutes and rules and proposed legislation. The Legal Unit does not serve as general counsel to DES; that role remains with the NH Attorney General’s Office.
