Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES) has removed the cyanobacteria advisory for Lake Monomonac, Rindge, NH. The advisory posted June 7, 2006, due to high levels of potentially toxic cyanobacteria, advised against swimming, drinking and allowing pets into the water. The advisory was removed on June 26, 2006 after lake samples revealed that cyanobacteria cell counts had decreased below the action level set by DES. DES will continue to monitor the lake as needed. DES encourages lake residents to report any sightings of cyanobacteria immediately.
