Merrimack River Watershed Wetland Restoration Plan

Concord, NH - The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services is hosting a public information meeting to discuss the recently completed Merrimack River Watershed Wetland Restoration Plan on February 17, 2009, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the PSNH Energy Park, 5 Rivers Auditorium, 780 North Commercial Street, Manchester. The plan identifies wetlands which may be impacted by past land uses and which may benefit from environmental restoration. State funding for these restoration efforts is now available through the newly established "Aquatic Resource Mitigation Fund."

Meeting Objectives

  • Review the methods and findings of the Wetland Restoration Plan Project
  • Discuss example restoration plans for a few sites in the watershed
  • Learn about the Aquatic Resource Mitigation Fund and how these funds can help watershed communities improve the environment
