Public Information Meeting Notice
Management of the Water Level of Lakes Waukewan and Winona

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES) will hold two public information meetings to accept public comments on the management of water levels for Lakes Waukewan and Winona. Portions of these lakes are located in the towns of Meredith, Center Harbor and New Hampton. The first meeting will be held at the Fire Station in the Town of Center Harbor on Monday, September 28 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and the second meeting will be held at the Community Center in the Town of Meredith on Tuesday, September 29 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

DES’s Dam Bureau is evaluating the current operational management at the Lake Waukewan Dam (Dam No. 155.01) located at the Mills Fall complex in Meredith. This dam controls or affects the water levels of Lake Waukewan and Lake Winona. DES will evaluate public comment, along with any other data or information collected, to determine if modifications to the current management protocols at the dam are warranted.
