DES “Green Your Fleet!” Workshop to be held Friday, June 4 in Manchester
Concord, NH – The Granite State Clean Cities Coalition, a program administered by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, will hold its first “Green Your Fleet!” workshop on Friday, June 4, at the Manchester Community College, 1066 Front Street in Manchester. The event provides fleet managers from around the Northeast with an informative overview of alternative fuels, advanced vehicle technology, and fuel economy strategies.
The workshop will feature panels on the benefits of biodiesel, natural gas and propane transportation fuels, as well as exhibits of alternative and advanced technology vehicles. DES Commissioner Tom Burack will offer introductory remarks, and Jay Joseph of Public Service Company of New Hampshire will provide the keynote address on the greening of the PSNH fleet. The afternoon session offers attendees the opportunity to choose among eight breakout sessions for additional information on topics such as biodegradable oils and hydraulic fluids, fleet management software, alternative fuel vehicle conversions, and on-board idle reduction.
The Granite State Clean Cities Coalition (GSCCC) is hosting this event in partnership with the Manchester Community College. GSCCC consists of over 80 stakeholders that support the goals of reducing dependence on foreign oil through the use of domestically produced, cleaner burning alternative fuels and technologies, and other fuel reduction strategies.
Exhibits and vehicles will be on display in the automotive building on the MCC campus. This building is the nation’s first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified automotive training facility.
