DES and IECA to Co-host Erosion Control and Stormwater Conference
Three-day Conference Will Highlight Erosion/Sediment Control Training; Stormwater Rulemaking; New Technology; UNH Stormwater Center Tour/Seminar
Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services and the International Erosion Control Association–Northeast Chapter will co-sponsor a three-day conference from November 30 to December 2 on erosion control and water quality in New Hampshire. The conference, which includes a trade show, seminars and tour of the UNH Stormwater Center, will be held at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, beginning at 12 p.m., November 30. Envirocert review seminars and exams will also be available throughout the three days for those pre-approved and pre-registered. The full conference cost is $100 for government employees/students; $150 for IECA members; and $200 for non-members; alternative fees are available for modified schedules. Certification review classes and exams are additional fees.
Ideal for directors, managers, consultants, lawyers and others who manage erosion control and stormwater projects for their companies, the conference will provide three days of programs addressing topics such as stormwater permits; winter construction challenges; residual designation authorities and their impacts on watersheds; stormwater pollutant load modeling; and case studies of successful low impact development projects. The UNH Stormwater tour and seminar is limited to 45 participants. Please register early to tour this nationally-recognized facility.
DES Commissioner Tom Burack will give the keynote address Wednesday morning with a discussion of DES’s strategic direction within the context of long-term sustainability and climate change, and the department’s current water resources planning effort.In addition to the many educational sessions, there will a reception and the Northeast IECA Chapter Annual Meeting on Tuesday evening.
