Four Companies Agree To Pay Fines For Air Pollution Violations
Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES) announced today the execution of Administrative Fine by Consent agreements with four New Hampshire entities: Antifreeze Technology Systems of Londonderry; US Postal Service of Manchester; RiverWoods at Exeter of Exeter; and Fidelity Real Estate Company, LLC of Merrimack.
Under the terms of the agreements, the four companies have paid administrative fines totaling $5,700 to the State. The fines resolve alleged violations of the Federal Clean Air Act and the State’s Air Pollution Control Act that occurred when each of the companies failed to apply for renewal of the required air permits in a timely manner, resulting in the companies temporarily operating without permits.
“DES’s Air Resources Division strives to ensure that air pollutant sources are controlled to protect the health of the state’s residents and New Hampshire’s environment,” said DES Commissioner Burack. “Therefore, it is essential that permitted sources of air pollution submit timely renewal applications and comply with State and Federal air permit requirements at all times.”
