DES to Host Second Workshop on Revisions to Air Permitting and Volatile Organic Compound Technology Rules
Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services Air Resources Division will host a second workshop on the revised air permitting regulations, Env-A 600, Statewide Permit System and Env-A 1200, Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) Reasonably Available Control Technology (RACT). The free workshop will be held on Monday, December 3, 2012 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at DES, 29 Hazen Drive, Concord, N.H.
DES regulates air emissions from a variety of sources within New Hampshire through a statewide permitting program. The rules list sources that require permits for air emissions and outline the permitting process, including air pollution dispersion modeling impact analysis requirements. The workshop will include an overview of the amended air permit procedures and modeling requirements which became effective September 1, 2012.
DES also regulates VOCs by incorporating recommendations contained in the US Environmental Protection Agency’s Control Techniques Guidelines in order to reduce ozone in non-attainment areas. The workshop will include an overview of amended VOC RACT requirements which includes revised requirements for some existing sources and requirements for sources not previously subject to VOC RACT.
Please contact Sara Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org or (603) 271-1379 to reserve a seat for this workshop.
Copies of Env-A 600 and Env-A 1200 are available at the DES website, http://des.nh.gov/organization/commissioner/legal/rules/index.htm#enva .
