Unveiling of a new interpretive sign documenting the history of the Buck Street Dams and Island Site, Allenstown/Pembroke

CONCORD - The media is invited to attend the unveiling of a new interpretive sign documenting the history of Buck Street Dams and the Buck Street Island in Allenstown and Pembroke. As owner of the dams on behalf of the State, NHDES removed the dams in 2011 to help alleviate upstream flooding during significant precipitation events. The interpretive sign helps to document the history of the dams as what was at one time an industrial center of the community.
