Geologic Data Preservation Program

The NHGS strives to become the central repository for all New Hampshire geological information, and hopes to accomplish this goal by participating in the National Geological and Geophysical Data Preservation Program, a USGS grant program that assists state geological surveys in archiving geologic information. From 1839 until 2001, geological survey functions were intermittently assigned to two universities and several departments of state government. As a result, geologic data, reports, and physical samples and cores are presently scattered within various institutions and in private collections. more... |
