Groundwater Level Monitoring Program
NHGS staff member measuring the monthly water level in an observation well The NHGS, in cooperation with the US Geological Survey (USGS), monitors groundwater levels from a statewide well monitoring network. Some of these wells are in overburden (soils) and others in bedrock. Groundwater levels in selected observation wells are measured every month on a year-round basis by NHGS staff and trained civilian volunteers. These data are shared with the USGS, which posts the data on its web site. more...
