Effective 2/1/03, the Department of Environmental Services will implement a criminal background check procedure for all new full-time temporary, permanent, or on-going part-time selected applicants, as well as for internships lasting longer than 12 weeks. A criminal background check is only required if an offer of employment is extended.
Also required once an offer of employment is extended is a driver’s license record check for those individuals who, once hired, will be driving a state vehicle, travel on behalf of the agency or request mileage reimbursement for travel in a privately owned vehicle to a work assignment.
