The NHPPP partnered with Ski NH on a workshop entitled "Tanks and Teams." The teams portion of the workshop focuses on creating an in-house group of employees that promote environmental initiatives. Green teams can help a company streamline prospective environmental improvements at their facility. The ski industry has a diverse range of departments which lead to unique environmental opportunities within each facility. Having a green team allows for a member of each department to discuss advantages and disadvantages of implementing specific projects thus aid in determining which project(s) should be implemented. Presentations given at the workshop are below.
- DES Case Study (Dean Robinson)
- Mount Washington Case Study (Stacey Doll)
- Building an Effective Green Team (Barbara Bernstein & Tara Mae Albert)
In New Hampshire, DES and SkiNH have created an Environmental Committee, which is comprised of different size facilities from all over the state. This group works to educate all of the facilities in the state and discusses what topics would be best to discuss at workshops.
Some additional information and assistance that ski facilities may find useful can be found in the Green Business Handbook (Second Edition) and also in the P2 Guide . For questions regarding green team issues please contact us at the NHPPP (800-273-9469 or [email protected]).
