The Award Process

How many Awards does NHPPP usually present each year? When will the Awards be presented? Will the Governor actually present the Awards? Who from our company or organization is eligible to attend the Awards ceremony?

How many Awards does NHPPP usually present each year? Generally, the number of Awards has varied annually between two and four Governor’s Awards, plus the same number of Honorable Mentions (see Past Award Winners).

When will the Awards be presented? The Governor’s Awards will be presented during an awards ceremony usually during P2 Week. This is the third week in September.

Will the Governor actually present the Awards? The Governor has attended the Awards for the past six years, in the eight-year history of the ceremony. Any change in plans or emergency situation would prohibit the Governor from attending. In this case, the DES Commissioner would present the awards, and a photograph with the Governor would be scheduled at a later date.

Who from our company or organization is eligible to attend the awards ceremony? This is entirely up to you and company management. You are welcome to bring as many of your company or organizational staff involved in the pollution prevention project as you wish.
