Frequently Asked Questions
Recycling Programs

  • We do not have a recycling program in place at our school, not even a basic program for recycling paper, plastic, aluminum or glass. How can we get a recycling program started?
Often a school will start a recycling program, only to have it fall by the way side as other staff responsibilities increase. It will take a team of dedicated individuals to make a recycling project stay active. Marc Morgan, DES Recycling Coordinator, has suggestions for reducing school wastes, which even include composting. Contact Sara Johnson at (603) 271-6460 or nhppp@des.nh.gov. You can also contact the Northeast Resource Recovery Association for information on starting a school recycling program.
