RSA 21-O:5-a establishes a 12-member wetlands council consisting of representatives from the public and certain state agencies.
Duties of the council are:
- To consult with and advise the commissioner of the Department of Environmental Services, on a continuing basis with respect to the policy, programs, goals, and operations of the department as they relate to wetlands with particular emphasis on long-range planning for the department and on education of the public relative to the functions of the department.
- To hear and decide all appeals from department decisions relative to the functions and responsibilities of the department which relate to wetlands.
To review all proposed rules relative to wetlands.
