Aboveground Storage Tank Program
Aboveground Petroleum Storage Tank Facility Registration

Purpose
To minimize land and water contamination and to assist aboveground storage tank facility owners gain and maintain eligibility to Oil Discharge Cleanup Funds.

Applicability
Applies to owners of aboveground petroleum storage tank (AST) facilities having a single AST system with an oil storage capacity of more than 660 gallons intended for storage, transfer, or distribution of oil; and those facilities with a combined oil storage capacity of more than 1,320 gallons, intended for storage, transfer, or distribution of oil. The combined oil storage capacity is determined by adding together all AST systems with a nominal oil storage capacity of 55 gallons or more. Owners of AST facilities storing less than the above amounts must also register if they have experienced a release and are applying to the Oil Discharge & Disposal Cleanup Fund or the Fuel Oil Discharge Cleanup Fund.

Fee
None.

Processing Time
Registration complete upon Aboveground Storage Tank Program receipt of a complete registration form signed by the AST facility owner.

Term/Renewal
 None.

Modification/Amendments
Any change in use must be reported within 30 days to the Aboveground Storage Tank Program using a Registration of Aboveground Petroleum Storage Tank (AST) Systems Microsoft Word Symbol form.

Transferability
Any change in use must be reported within 30 days to the Aboveground Storage Tank Program using a Registration of Aboveground Petroleum Storage Tank (AST) Systems Microsoft Word Symbol form.

Appeals
Any person aggrieved by a final decision can appeal to the Waste Management Council in accordance with RSA 21-0:9.
