Management of Certain Wastes

The New Hampshire Solid Waste Rules identify certain wastes where management requirements are specifically identified. Under Chapter Env-Sw 900 of the Solid Waste Rules, these wastes include:

  • Asbestos
  • Ash
  • Contaminated soils/media
  • Infectious waste
  • Tires

The Solid Waste Rules also address other waste materials such as stumps (Env-Sw 101.03 (c) and Env-Sw 810.09); waste concrete, cement, brick, inert masonry materials and asphalt (Env-Sw 302.03(b)(9)); and scrap metal (Env-Sw 407.04). Other waste and recycling activities are also addressed in the Solid Waste Rules and any questions regarding the handling and/or disposal of waste materials can be directed to the contact below.
