What should I do if I do not receive a quarterly report and I know I generated hazardous waste during that quarter?
The quarterly reports are mailed out 30 days after a quarter ends. If you do not receive a quarterly report within 45 days of the end of a quarter in which you generated hazardous waste, you should call the RIMS office at (603) 271-2921.
My fee amount due is $0. Am I required to sign and return the report?
Yes, when you receive a quarterly report, please review it for accuracy, then sign and return it to RIMS.
What should I do if I find errors on my quarterly report?
Make the appropriate changes to the report and include a copy of the manifest(s) and/or discrepancy letter(s) supporting these changes.
What should I do if I find that my quarterly report is missing a manifest?
Add the missing manifest(s) to the report and include a copy of the manifest(s) with the report when returning it to DES. If necessary, we will then issue you an amended quarterly, which you must sign and return to the RIMS office.
What are the benefits of the Hazardous Waste Quarterly Activity Report?
The quarterly report allows you to verify that the State has received your manifests, that the manifests have been entered correctly into the State Manifest Tracking System and it provides you with an opportunity to correct erroneous information.
Are there annual or biennial reporting requirements?
Effective August 2000, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services no longer requires hazardous waste generators to submit the Biennial Report forms issued by EPA. The Hazardous Waste Quarterly Activity Reports and manifests are used to gather the biennial data. New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services mails out the RCRA C Site Identification Form (aka Notification Form) and may require additional information from generators as needed to collect data required for the Biennial Report. The biennial data RIMS collects from these sources are transmitted electronically to the Environmental Protection Agency to fulfill their biennial reporting requirements.
