This sign is posted when bacteria levels exceed state standards. Subsequent sampling will occur until levels are within state standards, at which point the sign will be removed.
This sign does not indicate that the beach is closed to the public. However, bathers are warned to enter the water at their own risk.
This sign is posted when a potentially toxic cyanobacteria bloom is located within or near the beach area. The sign will be removed from the area when further samples indicate the concentration of the cyanobacteria species is below 50 percent of a sample OR less than 70,000 cells per ml of water.
This sign will be placed at public beaches monitored by the Beach Program. The presence of this sign indicates to the public that the most recent samples have been within state standards for bacteria at a bathing area.
