Coastal Hazards and Adaptation

Overview

Coastal areas are especially vulnerable to storm surge, flooding and sea level rise, putting coastal infrastructure, property and habitats at risk during storms. With more climate variability associated with climate change, the risk to coastal areas is increasing. Through its partnerships, the Coastal Program is working to engage local decision-makers in adaptation planning to minimize damage and increase preparedness for these natural hazards.
