General Interest

American Rivers, Inc.
A national organization whose mission is to preserve and restore America's river systems. Legislative updates about special programs; Links to congressional and presidential e-mail; the "River Web", a coalition of 3000 grassroots river groups in the US; and "Earthshare", a federation of national and local environmental and conservation charities in the US.

Interagency Wild & Scenic Rivers Coordinating Council
A cooperative of the various agencies which have jurisdiction over land included in the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System. Links to Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, US Fish and Wildlife Service, and US Forest Service, and numerous other rivers groups not directly involved in the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System.

River Management Society
A national non-profit organization dedicated to protection and management of North America's river resources. Actions, membership information, and publications of the Society, and recreational permitting information for several western rivers are included.

Wild and Scenic Rivers
This system ensures that certain US rivers which possess outstanding natural resources, are preserved in free-flowing condition and protected for future generations. Links to information about National Wild and Scenic Rivers and to the National Park Service's Rivers, Trails, and Conservation Assistance Program, which offers technical assistance for river protection.
