VLAP water quality monitoring can track changes in water quality at a lake/pond over a period of time. These changes may be naturally occurring or a result of human disturbance. If a decline in water quality is identified, VLAP data may be used to secure grant funding to identify and remediate watershed pollution sources. The DES Watershed Assistance Section offers grant monies for watershed assistance and restoration. Visit DES Watershed Assistance Section Grants/Loans for more information.
