Winnipesaukee River Basin Program
WRBP Commercial Wastewater Discharge Permit

Purpose
To provide a control mechanism for commercial wastewater dischargers that does not meet the criteria of an industrial wastewater discharger.

Applicability
Applies to any person proposing a commercial discharge to the Winnipesaukee River Basin Program (WRBP) System. A commercial discharge means non-industrial wastewater and sewage discharged from commercial facilities, including auto and truck service facilities, car washes, hospitals, laboratories, machine shops, marinas, newspaper printing, photo processing centers, printing shops, restaurants, schools, supermarkets, convenience stores with food preparation, facilities or institutions with food preparation, and funeral homes.

Fee
$75 application fee.

Processing Time
Typically 15 business days once the application is deemed complete.

Term/Renewal
Terminates upon cessation of operations or transfer of business ownership, unless notification of transfer is provided to the Winnipesaukee River Basin Program at least 30 days in advance.

Modification/Amendments
A commercial facility proposing a new discharge or a change in quantity of its existing discharge must submit a new Commercial Wastewater Discharge Permit RequestMicrosoft Word Symbolapplication to the Winnipesaukee River Basin Program at least 30 days prior to beginning the discharge.

Transferability
May transfer ownership if notification is provided to the Winnipesaukee River Basin Program at least 30 days in advance.

Appeals
Any person aggrieved by a final decision may appeal the decision to the Water Council in accordance with Env-WC 200.
