To demonstrate that sludge quality and variability meet strict environmental standards before land application can occur.
Any wastewater facility can apply for sludge quality certification of their sludge solids.
Sludge Quality Certification Application
$1,000 per application. New Hampshire municipal wastewater facilities are exempt.
Typically two to four weeks after application is deemed complete.
Term is five years. Certification is renewed by submitting an updated Sludge Quality Certification Application
with the appropriate fee no later than 120 days prior to the certification expiration date.
Permits are not transferable.
