Purpose
To assure that operators are qualified to operate and maintain wastewater treatment facilities and provide optimum treatment of all wastewaters at these facilities prior to discharge to surface or ground waters.
Applicability
Wastewater treatment plants must be operated only by operators certified by DES according to RSA 485-A:5-a.

Fee
$50 required for application, two-year certificate renewal, or reciprocity requests.

Term/Renewal
Must be renewed every two years after the certification process has been successfully completed and a certificate issued. Two continuing education units (CEUs) are required per renewal period for operator Grades 2 and above. Ten hours of education is equal to 1.0 CEU and one college credit is equal to 1.5 CEUs.

None.
Transferability
Not transferable.
Appeals
Any person aggrieved by a final decision can appeal the decision to the Water Council in accordance with Env-WC 200.
