Regional Planning Commissions Projects

Each of the nine regional planning commissions will work on two important statewide environmental initiatives:

The commissions will work with municipalities to apply specific model ordinances and regulations to specific municipalities addressing priority water quality issues in their planning regions. The deliverables will include at least one ordinance or regulation adapted to specific municipalities and presented for local adoption.

The regional planning commissions will also provide technical input to DES in the planning and development of new policies and procedures to achieve superior environmental results, streamline permitting procedures, and improve coordination with other agencies and municipalities.
