Sampling Equipment Needs
VRAP has a limited number of sampling equipment "kits" available to loan to volunteer monitoring groups upon advanced request. However, groups are encouraged to invest in their own equipment for long-term monitoring. Typically, a volunteer monitor group will need the following sampling equipment and supplies to collect VRAP samples:
Turbidity
1.0 NTU Standard
10.0 NTU Standard
DI Blank (0.0 NTU Standard)
Sample Vial
Turbidity Meter
Extra 9V Battery
pH
pH Electrode Storage Solution
pH Electrode Filling Solution
4.0 pH Buffer
6.0 pH Buffer
7.0 pH Buffer
pH Meter & Electrode Probe
Extra 9V or AAA batteries
Dissolved Oxygen/Temperature
Zero DO H20 Dissolved Oxygen Standard
Extra DO Membranes and Membrane Solution
DO/Temperature Meter
Extra AA Batteries
Specific Conductance
200 mS Conductivity Standard (or Other Standard)
Conductivity Meter
Extra AA Batteries
Other Supplies
Bucket & Rope Coil
