Why Does "My" Transfer Station Manage Waste the Way it Does: The Business Side of Municipal Solid Waste Management
This workshop covers the reasons why municipalities in New Hampshire choose solid waste management methods. The reasons are broken down and explained; how decisions are made; and discussions will be had on how the lack of understanding can lead to a lack of good decision-making. Instructors will examine the importance of the different roles held as well as the responsibilities of all parties. Attendees will also hear from New Hampshire operators on decisions that have been made (large and small) at their local municipal facility and the outcomes of those decisions. Part II of this series covers public perceptions and implementing effective education and outreach.
Attendees will receive 2.5 hours of Continuing Professional Development Hours towards Solid Waste Operator Certification.
