Designer and Installer Renewals
Providing guidance on license renewals for septic designer and installers.
Septic system installer and designer permits are valid for two years from January 1 of years ending in odd numbers to December 31 of years ending in even numbers. Within this period, permitted designers and installers must complete a minimum of six credit hours of continuing education from the NHDES Approved Continuing Education Seminars. Permits for designers and installers are renewable upon proper application, payment of a biennial fee of $80 and compliance with the continuing education requirements.
Designers and installers will be able to renew their permits online starting in the fall of 2024!
The NHDES Subsurface Systems Bureau will reach out to license holders by email, so make sure that contact information is up to date in ePermitting or by calling the Subsurface Bureau at (603) 271-3501.
Permittees will still have the option to renew their permits through the mail. Mail-in forms will be available on the website or at the NHDES building starting October 1. They will not be mailed out.
Please note that online renewal is only available when on a server within the United States (VPNs may also work).
