Theresa (Terri) Alden joined DWGB as its executive secretary in November. Terri comes to us from NHDES’ Solid Waste Management Bureau and has extensive experience in providing customer service. She assists the public by answering inquiries and connecting them with the appropriate DWGB programs for additional assistance. Terri also provides numerous administrative support functions across DWGB that keeps the bureau functioning.
Sylvie Couture started working in the Chemical Monitoring Program in September 2022. She is responsible for handling Consumer Confidence Reports (CCRs) required by all community public water systems each year, monthly operating reports submitted per the Surface Water Treatment Rule, schedule adjustments for VOC and SOC waivers, and she issues monitor and reporting violations. Sylvie’s excellent customer service and organizational skills are a welcomed addition to the team. She is passionate about guiding public water systems in fulfilling their monitoring requirements under the Safe Drinking Water Act. Sylvie enjoys spending time with her two sons and hiking in the White Mountains.
Mathew Deterling joined DWGB’s Sustainability Section as an Environmentalist III. Mat will be administering the sustainability section grants such as the Strategic Planning, the Energy Implementation and the Asset Management grants. Previously, Mat spent over 10 years as a financial analyst where he performed various tasks including preparation of budgets and reconciliation of trade accounts. Mat also possesses extensive experience with project management acquired from his time working for private utility companies. When Mat is not working you can find him skiing the slopes of Cannon Mountain.
Eric Skoglund was promoted to manage the Enforcement and Rulemaking Section for DWGB in November. Eric has worked at NHDES for 17 years and for the last 13 years, he has worked for DWGB in the Enforcement Section. Eric has a strong working relationship with water systems. His belief in working cooperatively with water systems to help them comply with complex regulations is highly valued by internal and external stakeholders. When not protecting New Hampshire’s drinking water, you can find Eric at the beach, in book club, sailing the Atlantic, and acting on stage and in film throughout New England.
