Lead in drinking water test results for schools and child care programs.
Lead in drinking water is typically measured in units of parts per billion, or ppb. New Hampshire law requires that sample results at or above 5 ppb are addressed (remediated) and reported to NHDES.
EPA has set the maximum contaminant level goal (a non-enforceable health goal) for lead in drinking water at zero because lead is a toxic metal that can be harmful to human health even at low exposure levels. NHDES encourages addressing any location that has detections of lead.
To view results, select the map dashboard or the table below.
To view results in tabular form select any round under schools or child cares and use "search" to locate the facility by name, town or license ID. If the school or child care program is not listed, results have not been reported to NHDES yet.
Note: Some facilities are sampling though a "joint" location. For example, samples for an after-school program located in the cafeteria on an elementary school may be reported with the elementary school data. In this case, please see the note in the Joint Facility Notes column of the facility where the sample was collected.

How do I interpret results?
- Outlet ID: This is a unique number used to identify each water source (i.e. a specific sink, drinking fountain, etc.).
- Outlet Location Description: Provided by the person that collected the sample on the chain of custody form.
- Result(s) (ppb): Parts per billion (ppb) is a measure of concentration of lead in a water sample. Some outlets have been sampled multiple times; in this case results are separated by a comma. If the result column shows ‘BRL” (below reporting limit), no lead was detected above the laboratory’s reporting limit.
- Remediation: This column lists corrective actions reported to NHDES by the facility.
- Operation Status: This indicated whether the facility is currently active or is closed.
- Joint Facility Notes: If a facility is sampled through a joint location, this column will indicate where the sample was collected.
